Personal profile and community artboards
Reddit mixes personal branding with community branding. Your avatar and profile banner live on your account. Community icons and community banners live in subreddit appearance settings. Stretching one export into every slot is how soft, clipped headers happen.
Feed posts need a clear card—about 1200×628 for link-style shares, or square / 16:9 for native image posts. Headers are short and very wide (commonly 1920×384). Circles need centered marks that still read at list size.
Each guide includes practical pixels, a checklist, and an in-browser crop. Nothing is uploaded to a server—you download the file and publish on Reddit yourself.
Quick picks
Match the task to the guide so you do not export the wrong ratio.
- Sharing a link or feed card → Post image; start at 1200×628.
- Updating the strip on your profile → Profile banner at 1920×384.
- Only changing the circle beside your username → Profile picture.
- Dressing a subreddit on desktop → Community icon + community banner 1920×384.
- Mobile-oriented community header → Community mobile banner at 1600×480.
- Coming from Facebook or X covers → Re-crop; those ratios are not Reddit headers.
Frequently asked questions
What size should Reddit post images be?
1200×628 works well for link-style cards. For native image posts, square 1080×1080 or 16:9 1920×1080 are strong practical options.
What size is a Reddit profile banner?
1920×384 (5:1) is a practical desktop-style upload. Keep logos in the center band—phones may trim the sides.
What size is a Reddit community mobile banner?
A practical size is 1600×480 (10:3). Desktop-style community banners commonly use 1920×384—export them separately.
What size is a Reddit avatar?
Use a clear square (try 512×512). Reddit shows it as a circle in comments and on your profile.
Are community banners different from profile banners?
Proportions can look similar, but community banners upload in subreddit appearance settings. Profile banners belong to your account. Mobile community art often prefers 1600×480.
Can I crop Reddit sizes in the browser?
Yes. Every guide on this hub includes an in-browser crop—files stay on your device until you download and upload to Reddit yourself.
